Kurt and Jon were fantastic with the WordPress Beginner Workshop at the Labor Guild June 1, 2013 and now offer the best wordpress hosting training. WordPress development has become a hot topic with over 16% of the web now running on WordPress. We thought the energy brought by all the attendees and both Kurt and Jon was the best at any event we’ve run.
The workshop focused on WordPress Hosting, the differences between posts and pages, appropriate plugins, navigating the dashboard and a little bit on free vs premium themes. For hosting HostGater and WPEngine were presented. HostGator is less expensive, but needs some additional plugins for back-ups. WPEngine is a little more expensive but a true all-in-one solution. You can find discount code information on both at Bostonwp Meetup. Their explanation of the difference between post and pages was simple and clear. The section on navigating the dashboard was excellent! We’ve been WordPress Developers for years and learned a few new things and Jon explained some of the things that are coming and why they are coming.
